Alagappa Institutions Alumni Singapore (AIAS) was founded in 2017 as a registered society in Singapore. The official inauguration was held on 20 January 2018, presided over by then Minister for Education Ong Ye Kung. The main objectives of AIAS are to establish a forum for mutual co-operation and unity by enhancing harmony and cultural development among members and their families, and to collaborate with other social welfare organisations in Singapore on community development services, as an avenue to give back to the society in Singapore. Since inception, AIAS has been an active participant in the annual Tamil language festival.
